Sharing Personal Information
Our store is hosted on Hostinger.com. Woocommerce provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored on Hostinger.com through their data storage, databases, and the general WordPress and Woocommerce application. It (Hostinger) stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
To complete your purchase, if you choose a direct payment gateway, Woocommerce stores your credit card data. They are encrypted using the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as necessary to complete your purchase transaction. Once this is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands such as American Express, Discover, MasterCard Visa. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
SSL protocol is used to secure online transactions by encrypting data transmitted between the client’s browser and the website’s server. To utilize WooCommerce Payments or other direct payment gateways, WooCommerce requires your site to be secured with an SSL certificate. This ensures that sensitive information, such as credit card details, is transmitted securely.
SCA (Strong Customer Authentication)
SCA is a requirement of the PSD2 (the Second Payment Services Directive) in the European Union, aimed at reducing fraud and enhancing the security of online payments. It requires two-factor authentication for online transactions. WooCommerce Payments and other compatible gateways support SCA, thus ensuring compliance with European regulations.
